This past week has been busy with nocturnal activity from brushtail possums. There has been much banging and clanging around underneath the house, running up and down the veranda, running along the tin roof, screeching and that weird machine-like noise they make.
We saw this female possum with a full pouch in amongst a clump of trees by the house together with another female possum.
This female possum and her joey are regular visitors. She’s been around for several years now and is very friendly and her joey is quite cute. And yes, she does have a wound on her right hind leg but it appears to be healing on its own.
Caught these guys up on the roof a few times among the solar panels.
And then there’s this female possum with a joey’s tail and little leg sticking out of her pouch!
And here she is with the joey on her back last night. (This photo shows up best on small screens).

Great possum captures Sue, sometimes these little fellows I guess can be quite impossumable with all the racket they can cause at night You have done well to get so many great pics, they obviously know that you care for them.

Not just together Sue, they seem to be friends!, there is one young Ringy that gets down on the ground and runs up to me, one night the young Brushy was with it on the ground waiting side by side with it. I encourage them to stay in the trees and they are often side by side.

I know we have possums about, I see their droppings but it’s rare for me to see one. We have Ringtails and Brushtails here.

Great post Sue, wonderful pictures. Our lot are a bit quiet at the moment, one mum and joey live under our back roof, last years young one lives in the bathroom wall. The latter comes out and gets hand fed apple at night with 3 Ringtails. Its funny to see A Brushy and Ringy side by side happily sharing.
